We have a fantastic opportunity for the position of CAD Software Engineer for our Edinburgh Offices.
Job Summary:
As a CAD Software Engineer, you will work as part of a highly specialized team in developing cutting edge user interfaces for 2D and 3D computer aided design (CAD) applications.
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate looking to progress their career and committed to developing innovative software and pushing forward new technologies on web-based three-dimensional modelling and green field user interfaces.
The successful candidate will be leading the discussions and design of the technologies and methods used for virtual reality applications, simulations visualization with 3 dimensional animations and CAD UI design.
Requirements:
Demonstrable experience in development of React and Angular applications
Demonstrable experience with CAD (Computer Aided Design) systems including:
Interactive generation of systems capable of diagrams/schematics/sketches (2D)
Interactive generation of 3D interactive visualizations with features such as (Extrusion of faces, selection of objects in the 3D model with call backs)
Experience with JavaScript and HTML
What would make you stand out:
Knowledge and/or experience with web apps containing 3D animations
Knowledge and/or experience in the development of Virtual Reality applications.
Experience developing containerized web applications using Docker and/or Kubernetes
Knowledge and/or experience in Product Design and Wireframing.
Experience using HTML5and/or TypeScript
Experience with any of the following packages: (Babylon.js, Three.js, JS.Sketcher, Or a cutting-edge 3D design package of your choice)
Understanding the requirements to achieve a scalable application used by thousands of users
During the interview:
It would be desirable they have an original piece of work demonstrating a 2D and/or 3D CAD web application and be able to explain to the Interviewer how it works internally, including which packages have been used, the callback mechanisms of the interface, how it may be able to communicate with backend services and/or databases
